Harley-Davidson VRSCAW V-Rod

The Harley-Davidson VRSCAW V-Rod is known as the clean and mean machine of Harley’s distinctive VRSC line of motorcycles. The VRSCAW V-Rod retains the original V-Rod custom styling and adds the unique feature of an ultra-fat 240mm rear tire. The wide tire is inspired by the drag-strip competition design of the VR-1000 racing motorcycle and employed to maximize acceleration and torque. Known as a power cruiser, the V-Rod houses a high-revving 9000rpm redline, shifting up through 5 speed transmission on a 115 horsepower powertrain. Liquid cooling manages the multi-valve, fuel-injected powertrain output of the two-toned silver and charcoal 1130cc Revolution engine. Chrome covers on the Revolution engine add to the slick style of the V-Rod and synthesizes with a chrome slash-cut dual exhaust system.

Born in 2001, the VRSC family breaks from the tradition of the nostalgic, “retro styling” in the other divisions of Harley-Davidson motorcycles. Harley’s goal with the V-Rod is to compete with American and Japanese musclebikes, expanding its marketability to a different class of rider. The Revolution engine was designed in a joint effort with Porsche, incorporating fuel injection, overhead cams and 60-degree V-Twin engine. The hydroformed, silver leafed aluminum with clear cover paint on the frame boasts torsional rigidity with dual tubes designed to maintain low temperatures over uneven surfaces and through hard corners.

The V-Rod has fostered a large, enthusiastic following for a new generation of Harley riders and owners, with many fans attending the VRSCAW V-Rodannual Rally at the Kansas City Harley-Davidson production facility. The V-Rod additionally boasts silver stylized rear shocks, low-rise handlebars, an under-the-seat 5.0 gallon fuel tank and a two-piece, two-up textured vinyl seat with a seat height of 26 inches. Other features of the V-Rod include an aerodynamic, reflector-optics headlamp and machine slotted disc wheels that house braided silver brake lines and silver calipers using the Brembo performance brake system supported by 300mm dual rotors that provide high-performance stopping power.

Pricing for the VRSCAW V-Rod starts at $16,495 and is offered in 12 color options, including three two-tone combinations and three limited-time, additional two-tone custom color choices.
