Harley-Davidson VRSCD Night Rod

The Harley-Davidson VRSCD Night Rod is the most menacing of the VRSC family of motorcycles. The Night Rod is the hot rod-inspired, metal sculpted member of the VRSC family of Harleys, taking inspiration from the V-Rod and the Street Rod in equal parts. The Night Rod is a high-revving machine built around the wicked power source of a liquid-cooled, 1130cc Revolution engine. Built in cooperation with Porsche, the VRSC family of Revolution engines boasts strong running, fuel-injected, overhead cams and a 60-degree V-Twin engine.

The raked-out, 36-degree front fork angle is the malevolent middleman between the styling of the V-Rod and the Street Rod. The Night Rod was nominated in 2006 for Best Comfort Improvement due to its two sets of footpegs as factory standard. The mid-mount, roadster-like foot controls enhance aggressive riding and the forward mount footpegs allow for relaxed highway cruising. The low 26-inch seat height allows the rider to creep through winding roads on the Night Rod.

Keeping with the VRSC family of muscular tradition, the sleek, chromed-out straight-shot dual exhaust pipes contrast with the Night Rod’s overall dark look. Black minimalist rear shocks, black engine with black covers, black paint on the hydroformed perimeter frame, black brake lines and black calipers, black two-piece, two-up textured vinylVRSCD Night Rod seat with flip up fuel fill access add to the sinister look of the Night Rod, creating a phantom-like silhouette that appeals to the dark side of any sized rider. The Night Rod’s black machine-slotted disc cast aluminum wheels and Brembo triple-disc professional brakes adds additional blacked-out styling for sneaking around the shadows.

The Night Rod’s unique features also include a new kickstand and a color-matched speed screen. Available in Vivid Black, Pacific Blue Pearl and Yellow Pearl, the VRSCD Night Rod begins its pricing at $14,995.
